How we work

Your data, your systems, your numbers. Here is exactly how.

The three questions every owner asks before a first call: what happens to my client data, what does it cost, and who actually does the work. Short answers below, and the long ones are in every proposal.

Data, access and consent

Read in place. Hold as little as possible. Nothing trains on your data.

Your credentials, your consent

Every system is read under your own logins and tenant consent, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, your CRM or your aggregator platform. You can revoke access at any time without Alvo in the room.

No copy of the client file

We read the fields a workflow needs on a schedule, through the platform's documented API or its exports. The only records held outside your existing systems are the narrow set that cannot live anywhere else, such as a settlement history to reconcile commissions against, and they sit in a store you own.

The assistant runs in your subscription

We configure Claude by default, on a business subscription held in your name, or Microsoft 365 Copilot where that serves the requirement better. Business and enterprise terms on both exclude training on your data. Data residency follows the subscription you choose and is set out in the proposal.

A person signs off anything that leaves

Drafts are drafts. Credit memos, client letters, claim responses and lender submissions are reviewed and sent by your people. Where a decision must always stay with a person, it is written into the design before anything is built.

Guardrails first, with MyCISO

For businesses whose referral relationships depend on privacy, the first milestone includes an access, consent and data-handling review you can hand to a referring accountant, adviser or insurer as it stands.

Insured and in writing

Alvo carries professional indemnity cover to $5,000,000, certificates available on request. Our standard NDA forms part of every engagement, and everything built belongs to you.

What it costs

Fixed fees per milestone. No hourly billing. No retainer unless you want one.

Every milestone carries its own fee and its own measure, and nothing is payable on a milestone that does not reach its measure. A gate sits at the end of each one, so you decide whether to continue on the evidence of the last.

StartNo charge

A 45-minute discovery session, or the free broker funnel audit. We tell you which patterns apply and what they are worth.

Assess$3,000

Two to four weeks. A baseline of where the time and margin go, a written report with a dollar value on each improvement, and a debrief.

Prototype or milestone$3,000 to $5,000

A two-week working prototype on your data, or a single build milestone such as commission reconciliation or estimating rules capture. Each priced and measured on its own.

Build$15,000 to $30,000

Every build to date has landed here, over 8 to 16 weeks, as three to five milestones with an exit at every gate. Optional optimisation support afterwards at $1,500 to $3,000 a month.

All fees exclude GST. Third-party subscriptions, such as the assistant platform or your aggregator's API access, are held in your name and are not included. Where we want to build depth in a segment we say so and discount accordingly.

Who does the work

Founder-led, with specialist depth behind it, and honest about hours.

Who runs my engagement?

Rob Towey leads every engagement from discovery to handover, with Syfre on production engineering and MyCISO on governance where the scope calls for them. Alvo caps the number of active engagements so each one gets the hours its milestones need, and that cap is stated in your proposal.

Rob also works with Axtec. How does that fit?

The Axtec role is a contracted product and partnerships engagement, not a full-time executive seat. It is also where several of the patterns on this site were run at scale. Axtec work and Alvo work are kept separate: separate systems, separate data, no crossover of client material in either direction.

Who builds the production engineering?

Syfre, a Brisbane-based AI engineering firm, under Alvo's scope and accountability. They are named in the proposal before they touch anything, and they sign the same confidentiality terms Alvo does.

What happens in month seven?

Everything is configured in your own accounts and documented as it is built, so your team or your IT provider can change it without Alvo. If you would rather we keep tuning it, optimisation support is a fixed monthly fee you can stop at any time.

Can you deliver to a membership or a group?

Yes, as a programme rather than one-to-one: a webinar or workshop series under Educate, a discounted Assess for members, and the free audit as the first step. Partners such as Savage Recruitment Academy and Colab carry delivery into their own communities.

Start with the no-charge session.

Forty-five minutes, your numbers, no deck. If a pattern applies we will say which one and what it is worth. If none does, we will say that too.
